IRIS Incomplete Records System and the Future

Article Abstract:

Incomplete Records Information System (IRIS), a computer package developed by Transaction Technology and marketed by Malpas Allen Professional Systems, is an excellent records information system. Developed in conjunction with a firm of chartered accountants, the system is deemed to be user-friendly, flexible, and useable on a variety of machines. Four categories of floppy disks are used. These are: posting disks, directory disks, master disks, and account production disks. There are two modes of communication: entry mode and command mode. Several examples of transactions are discussed. The FX20, developed by Future Computers, Ltd. is also praised and described.

'Professionalism Is What I Stand For' - Hardcastle

Article Abstract:

Alan John Hardcastle acts as president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In this interview, he cites professionalism as the main theme of his presidency. His term is eighteen months. Along with a brief biographical background are included his opinions on professional training, the structure of the Institute, the importance of communication in the Institute, pressures from unqualified accountants and ethics and standards. Accomplishments of members are important advertising for the profession. Basically, he is satisfied with the Institute and only seeks to perfect it. No claims for bold and big changes are made.

Article Abstract:

Super Chartman II and Chartman IV are produced by Graphic Software Inc. to make chart-making easy. Super Chartman II is designed to enable someone without programming knowledge to produce, on a standard IBM personal computer with 128kb of memory, high quality business graphics on screen or on a plotter or printer. Super Chartman II consists of four diskettes and provides bar charts, pie charts, line and test charts. Chartman IV complements Super Chartman II, offering a specialized set of business chart types: Gannt, Organisation, Area Jill, Seatter, On-screen text, and all displayed in full color.
