The Naperville, IL-based Incentive Mktg Assn (IMA) is helping the incentives industry by promoting a high level of standards and professionalism in the incentive business. It has helped developed educational programs for the human resource and safety marketplaces. These educational programs are conducted at major industry trade shows where IMA exhibits. The organization also coordinates buyer education programs at the New York Premium Incentive Show and the Chicago Motivation Show.

Outer space travel is deemed to become a reality as soon as Dec 2001 as particular companies prepare to offer this unique service. For instance Zegrahm Space Voyages, headquartered in Seattle, WA, anticipates to offer its first commercial outer space travel in Dec 2001. Two other firms are constructing space vehicles intended for a sub-orbital travel beyond the atmosphere. Likewise, Space Adventures of Fairfax, VA, has plans to provide sub-orbital flights.

The drive to work: attendance incentive program takes off for Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines Inc, based in Houston, TX, has successfully improved its employee attendance rate through an incentive program called the Perfect Attendance Program. Employees with a perfect six-month attendance can win the Fort Explorer Award, which gives away a Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer limited edition model. Those who fail to win the Ford can still qualify to win a vacation, gift certificate, fee-waived domestic airline passes and other perks.
