Independent Eskimo Pie gunning for market share

Article Abstract:

Reynolds Metals Co has relinquished its 84% ownership of Eskimo Pie Corp. This development gives Eskimo's management the freedom to examine various growth options in the $1.3 billion frozen novelties market. It is apparent that the company is being responsibly managed as shown in its 19 1/2 price level from its 17 point initial public offering price. Furthermore, the company seems capable of meeting its 11% to 13% per year growth target with the possibility of its market share increasing from 7.5% to 10%.
