Insurers seek more gene data

Article Abstract:

There is concern that insurers could demand the results of genetic tests and render some people unable to buy insurance. Lincoln National is one insurer seeking free access to test results. Cherry picking could arise, despite genetic science not being advanced enough to take such decisions. Lincoln National argues that people with life threatening conditions could take out insurance and not divulge their test results and they would effectively be subsidised by other policyholders.

Protecting your assets: Life insurance may not be as sexy as managing your portfolio but financial ambitions need to be protected if they are not to be jeopardized

Article Abstract:

Recovering from a serious illness may mean exposure to financial problems. Critical illness insurance cover is available on a family income benefit basis. Permanent health insurance pays a tax free income until returning to work. A combination of the two benefits in one plan will ensure full protection and will save money.
