Integration of chemical-genetic and genetic interaction data links bioactive compounds to cellular target pathways

Article Abstract:

The potential for integration of chemical-genetic and genetic interaction data are investigated in order to reveal information about the pathways and targets of inhibitory compounds. The investigation revealed that by filtering chemical-genetic profiles for the multidrug-resistent genes and then clustering the compound-specific profiles with a compendium of large-scale genetic interaction, profiles would identify target pathways or proteins.

Rain or shine-a phototroph that delivers

Article Abstract:

The feature of the Rhodopseudomonas palustris, most versatile bacteria that have both anaerobic and aerobic growth modes, and that can adapt quickly to the alterations in the availability of oxygen for respiration is presented. Rhodopseudomonas palustris have the feature of budding cell division that results in a motile swarmer cell and a stalked nonmotile cell, which is the reminiscent of the well-characterized Caulbacter specied

The use of nanocrystals in biological detection

Article Abstract:

New types of biological sensors are expected to be developed with the emerging ability to control the patterns of matter on the nanometer length scale. Sensing of single-molecular level in living cells and parallel integration for detection of multiple signals can be enabled by these new systems.
