Into a new dimension

Article Abstract:

Improved spreadsheets are continually being developed to broaden the extent of their application. While cross-platform integration has led to the implementation of spreadsheets on a variety of hardware platforms, cross-product integration has allowed users to gather data from outside sources. Ease of usage is also being enhanced while Windows are being standardized to permit easier exchange of information among different packages. Furthermore, multi-dimensional modelling of spreadsheets lets filing of worksheets in one storage. Concepts that have allowed easier application of these three-dimensional spreadsheets include the notebook spreadsheet and the object inspector. Sharing of a spreadsheet among different users is also being developed.
