Iran nuclear 'countdown' demands U.S. response-author

Article Abstract:

A study suggested that Iran's nuclear program constitutes 'a clear and present danger to the United States', to which the United States must respond with a combination of diplomatic initiatives and a heightened effort to overthrow the existing Iranian regime. Iran's Islamic clerical regime has accumulated a considerable track record of hostile actions against the United States, including the bombing in Beirut in the year 1983 that killed U.S. Marines.

Bunker buster study survives close House vote

Article Abstract:

The House approved the administration request for $27 million for fiscal 2005 for studying the concept of the Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator (RNEP). It is believed that the continued pursuit of the new nuclear weapons will have a serious impact on the nonproliferation credibility.

Administartion faces awkward position on Iran nukes, expert says

Article Abstract:

The Bush administration suggestion that Iran is trying to develop a missile that could carry a nuclear warhead, reflects that the Bush administration is denying a new deal between Iran and three European countries for defusing the Iranian nuclear issue. An agreement made by Iran with Britain would have the effect of suspending Iran's enrichment of uranium into nuclear weapons-grade material.
