Is 3-D in your marketing plan? Get ready, because VRML 2.0 will reshape the Web

Article Abstract:

The advent of the 2.0 version of Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) promises to create more life-like activity and animation in cyberspace. VRML 2.0 can be used to develop three-dimensional Web sites with stereo sound, animated scenes and graphical avatars representing visitors to the site. Although the technology is still in its infancy stage, business marketers using the Web would do well to consider the potential of this tool for their own purposes.

Push pioneers include BackWeb Technologies with its BackWeb Channel server, InterMind Corp. with its Communicator, and Marimba with its CastaNet tuner.
