Is inflation returning?

Article Abstract:

The growing concern regarding the increase in inflation during 2005 is discussed. The direct and indirect effect of higher oil prices, decline in share prices and an unusual increase in low bond yields have increased the fear of rise in inflation rates.

Article Abstract:

The upturn in the UK's economy at the end of 1999 is best managed through gradual policy-tightening. Significant wage or inflation increases are unlikely, and inflation should be maintained as close to 2.5% as possible.

Treading carefully

Article Abstract:

Economic growth in the United Kingdom slowed somewhat in the third quarter 2001, but nevertheless showed strength. Service industries grew 3.5%, as manufacturing fell about 2% on an annual basis.
