Porkert (Skuhrov nad Belou, Czech Republic), hand kitchen machine and piano frame manufacturer, expects its proceeds to increase by nearly 20% for 1H 2001 compared to 1H 2000. The firm increased its proceeds by 9% to CEK 53 mil for 1Q 2001 compared to 1Q 2000. Its total proceeds amounted to CEK 197 mil in 2000. About 30% of the sum were generate by piano frames. Exports represented nearly 90% of the firm's total proceeds in 2000. Porkert has a 25% share on the global hand kitchen machine market and a 4% share on the global piano frame production market. The company has over 380 employees currently. It produces about 450,000 hand kitchen machines per year.

Leciva saw a profit and increased its proceeds

Leciva (Prague, Czech Republic), pharmaceutical company, saw a net profit of CEK 627 mil in 2000, according to preliminary results. In 1999 the firm generated a net profit of CEK 495.5 mil. The company's total revenues increased to CEK 6.1 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 5.31 bil in 1999. Leciva has more than a 90% majority stake held by the manager company Leciva CZ (Prague, Czech Republic).
