Largan Inc has launched several entry-level, point-and-shoot digital cameras, including the VGA-resolution Chameleon, CMOS chip camera that can be used for still photography and video captures. Other cameras introduced by the company are the VGA resolution Lmini 351/351 with optiocal viewfinders, 2MB internal memory and built-in flash, and the Easy 800 with a 1,024-by-768-pixel CCD sensor, removable 4 MB CompactFlas memory card and RS232 interface.

Pentax Corp of Englewood, CO, has introduced the Pentax EI-3000, a digital autofocus SLR equipped with a 34-107 mm zoom lens that has a 3.4-megapixel resolution CCD sensor. Other features of this camera include a large LCD monitor/viewfinder and a built-in pop-up flash. Storing images on a CompactFlash memeory card, the camera produces both compressed JPEG and uncompressed TIFF image files.

Casio Inc of Dover, NJ, has launched a 3.3-megapixel QV-3500EX digital camera, which is equipped with 33-100 mm f/2-2.5 optical zoom lens. The debuting camera also employs CompactFlash Type I and II memory cards, as well as a 2,048-by-1536-pixel CCD sensor that captures images in TIFF, JPEG, DCF and Motion JPEG. Other features include an optical viewfinder and 1.8-inch LCD monitor.
