Littlewoods bails out Burton

Littlewoods and Burton are setting up a mail-order JV which allows Littlewoods to use high street brands from Burton, like Burton Menswear, in its catalogs. Burton gains from Littlewoods' expertise in this field, and will hold a 35% stake in the JV, paying 15 million pounds sterling. Burton previously acquired Innovations, a mail order concern which it sold to Great Universal Stores for 20 million pounds sterling after reporting losses for its mail order activities.
