Lockheed Martin builds support for embattled F/A-22

Article Abstract:

Leading lawmaker's decision to eliminate one of the three Pentagon fighter-plane programs led Lockheed Martin Corp. to begin a media campaign building political support for the F/A-22 Raptor fighter aircraft. Vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee stated that United States couldn't afford to continue three separate fighter aircraft development programs.

Ship crew shrinks by 577 sailors on CVN 21, more to be cut

Article Abstract:

The Northrop Grumman Corporation unit has cut 577 sailors form the ship's crew of the next generation aircraft carrier CVN 21 which is now in development. Personnel expenses are an expensive area in the defense budget and reducing crew size will liberate huge amounts of money, which can be used for weapons procurement or other purposes.
