Lockheed beats Miltec to develop army missile

Article Abstract:

The Compact Kinetic Energy Missile (CKEM) is a 60-inch long light weapon that can destroy practically any enemy vehicle as well as bunkers and other hardened targets and the contract for its production has been awarded to Lockheed Martin Corp. over its competitor, Miltec Corp. The missile will transit from initial deployment on a Humvee to Future Combat System (FCS) vehicles and Lockheed Martin will continue to evaluate other possible platforms for CKEM.

Air Force STOVL could differ from marine

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin believes that an Air Force version of the short take-off, vertical landing Joint Strike Fighter could have different performance requirements than the plane it is already developing for the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps wants its STOVL aircraft to be capable of taking off in under 550 feet and landing vertically with 5,000 pounds of ordnance.
