Lockheed details its plans for an innovative Littoral Combat Ship

Article Abstract:

Details as revealed by Lockheed Martin Corp. of the innovative systems it will employ to build the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) that will ease the task of U.S. Navy sailors guiding the warship through coastal waters, are presented. The 1/22nd scale model of the ship that is used by Lockheed to demonstrate how the LCS will work, features clear plastic sides offering views below decks and the model is on display in Lockheed offices near the Washington Navy Yard.

Lockheed completes LCS system a year early

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corporation has completed the work on the core combat management system software for its version of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) a year earlier than expected. LCS is a high-speed ship on a high-speed schedule and hence the completion of the core combat management system software ahead of schedule has shown that Lockheed Martin might succeed in keeping its LCS construction program under control.

Lockheed plan will solve joint strike fighter weight problem

Article Abstract:

A multi-point plan approach is designed by Lockheed Martin Corp. and its teammates Northrop Grumman Corp., and Rolls Royce to solve the overweight problem on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), which is proposed to be one of the biggest defense procurement program. It is proposed to provide a bonus payoff for the other two variants of the plane, making them lighter and improving performance.
