Article Abstract:

ICAEW chief executive Eric Anstee is proud to be part of the largest of the professional accounting bodies in Europe as he explains reason for need to consolidate the UK profession. Government and industry need a single body with which it can do business and in an attempt to do that they at ICAEW is proposing with CIPFA for operational alignment with separate qualifications and titles preserved as strength of the combined body.

ICAEW, determined to retain and build on its position as a world leading professional accountancy body, outlines its strategies as it proposes to integrate with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). ICAEW believes that the integration will increase their influence with government and standard-setters and provide additional resource to invest in maintaining the reputation and standing of members.
