Measuring preferred store satisfaction using consumer choice criteria as a mediating factor

Article Abstract:

Researchers investigated the relationship between customers' reasons for choosing to use a particular supermarket and their level of perceived satisfaction with the supermarket. They identified six major reasons for consumers' choice of store patronage. These reasons included car parking facilities, range of own-brand goods, and ease of shopping visit. Two factors, which were very significant and correlated with one another as choice criteria, quality and value for money, were also strongly related to customers' perceived level of satisfaction with their preferred supermarket.
