Mentor Corp

Article Abstract:

Active trading in Mentor Corp. stocks has continued, resulting in the stocks' recovering from a 52-week low of $8.00 a share. Analysts attribute this to the potential that investors see in saline breast implants following the Food and Drug Administration's suspension of silicon-gel implant use. Mentor makes artificial implants and supplies and controls 90% of the saline breast implant market. Investors could also be taking their cue from purchases of 49,600 shares by three Mentor insiders at 9 7/8-12 1/4 between Nov 1991 and Feb 1992, or reacting to the 60% increase in sales of urology implants during the Dec 1991 fiscal third quarter.
