Methodologies for ex ante projections of adoption rates for agbiotech products: lessons learned from rBST

Article Abstract:

Recombinant bovine somatotropin (rBST) remains to be the only biotechnology product that has ex ante and ex post adoption studies for agbiotech products. Projections based on rBST ex ante projections have only been partially successful in encouraging actual adoption. New methods and techniques based on the sigmoid curve and adjustments on standard learning experiential learning justification are proposed to improve the reliability and accuracy of rBST pre-release adoption projections.
