A three-component model of customer commitment to service providers

Article Abstract:

The concept of consumer commitment and its role in switching intentions is investigated. A new commitment-switching model, which includes a three-component conceptualization of customer commitment, is developed and its implications for theory and practice are discussed.

The applicability of the push-pull- mooring (PPM) paradigm to service switching behavior of the consumers is explored. The customer evaluations of service provider characteristics and service experience exert lesser influence on service switching.
