Monsanto Co

Article Abstract:

Share price for Monsanto Co was reduced 5-5/8 for the trading week ended June 5, 1992 as a result of earnings estimate reductions by a number of analysts. Paul Leming of Kidder, Peabody alleged that marketing costs for Monsanto's G.D. Searle division's three newest products destroyed the parent company's 1992 and 1993 profits and would result in a 25% increase in Searle's GS&A. As such, Leming has lowered his 1992 Monsanto estimate to $4.75 a share from $5.50 and his 1993 projection to $5.25 from $6.20.
