Mountain bike promotion puts fun in bread

Article Abstract:

Earthgrains has launched its mountain bike-oriented promotion dubbed IronKids Bread Mountains of Fun Instant Win Sweepstakes. The objective of the promotion, which was touted as the largest instant-win promotion in the bread category, is to generate excitement in the bakery aisle, with over four million loaves of IronKids Bread containing instant-win game pieces. Earthgrains' promotion will generate over 2,000 winners of prizes that range from mountain bikes to bicycle helmets. The grand prize winner of the promotion will be awarded a one-week trip for four to Beaver Creek, CO, the mountain bike haven.

Mohawk built memories

Article Abstract:

Mohawk Industries, a $2-billion rug and carpet maker, launched a five brand-specific promotions to increase the sale of all of the company's brands. The promotions included radio scripts, ad slicks and point-of-purchase items for the retailers. In order to entice dealers to participate in the promotion, Mohawk rewarded dealers 150 various items that could be won by earning points based on the sales of products being promoted. The program became successful, reflecting a 55% boost in retail display usage and a 266% increase in dealer enrollment in the five brand-specific promotions.

Coca-Cola distributed 55 million Coca-Cola cards to teen-agers starting in March 1998 through the distributors of the firm. For instance, a number of bottlers employed teeners as "Coca-Cola Card Crews," who distributed Coke cards in local hangouts. Holders of Coke cards would able to avail some of the numerous local rewards that include $2-discounts to amusement parks admissions, free Cokes with purchases, a free karate uniform and a month's worth of lessons, discounts off virtual reality parties and a free three-year health club membership.
