Article Abstract:

Raytheon Systems Co., Naval and Maritime Systems Div., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $5,471,143 cost-plus-award-fee letter contract for a ship self-defense systems (SSDS) MK-2 equipment shipset in support of CVN 69. The SSDS implements improved ship self-defense capabilities against high-speed, low-flying anti-ship cruise missiles for selected non-AEGIS ships. The SSDS design integrates several existing and programmed anti-air warfare stand-alone systems, providing an automated quick response and multi-target engagement capability with emphasis on performance in a littoral environment. SSDS MK-2 incorporates advanced combat direction system functionality and the integration of the cooperative engagement capability on CVN and LPD ship classes. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (90%), and Portsmouth, R.I. (10%), and is expected to be completed by February 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract wa! s not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-99-C-5108).

Article Abstract:

Raytheon Co., Electronic Systems, Sudbury, Mass., is being awarded a $78,400,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-5199 to exercise an option for FY 99 requirements of three shipsets of AEGIS weapons system OT-188/SPY-1D(V) transmitter groups, fire control system MK99 Mod 3 ancillary equipment, site support, data, spares, provisioned item order, provisioning technical documentation, and technical manuals for U.S. Navy requirements. Work will be performed in Andover, Mass. (80%), and Sudbury, Mass. (20%), and is expected to be completed by May 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
