Navy should buy more unmanned, fewer manned aircraft: Analyst

Article Abstract:

A military analyst believes that the Navy should buy fewer F-35 Joint Strike Fighters (JSF) for duty on aircraft carriers and more Joint Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (J-UCAV) if those pilotless planes can land safely on pitching carrier flight decks. Robert Work, senior analyst with the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA), has given his opinion on the Navy's next-generation DD(X) class destroyer program and the piloted JSFs.

Sikorsky says it has Marine One supplier in 41 states

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. reported that it will have suppliers in 41 states if it wins the Navy contract for the future Marine One presidential transport helicopter. The company has widespread infrastructure in place to produce and maintain Marine One helicopter as it is building presidential transport helos since the administration of President Dwight Eisenhower.
