Neepsend is a UK toolmaker and engineering firm. The company saw a recovery in profit for 1994, and looks set to enjoy continued growth. Neepsend's businesses include plastic injection tooling and plastic injection mouldings. The company could gain some 2 million pounds sterling from a real estate deal with Tesco which acquired a site from Neepsend in 1994. The windfall will be gained if Tesco is allowed to open a retail outlet on this site. Neepsend shares are recommended for investors in Jul 1995.

Mackie looks forward to a liquid future

Mackie International is a UK precision engineering firm which carried out a flotation in 1994. The company should achieve a pre-tax profit of 3.3 million pounds sterling for 1995. Textile machinery accounts for a large part of the company's profits though Mackie is also involved in water treatment machinery and owns a foundry. The company competes with Russian and Chinese firms and is subject to business cycles. Water treatment is being developed in order to spread risks.

Eadie needs to smooth its rocky road

Eadie is a UK engineering concern which forecasts a rise in profit to 2.7 million pounds sterling for 1995, rising to 3.3 million pounds for 1996. The company suffered a drop in operating profit in 1994 and there were problems with warehousing and distribution. There was a drop in sales for manual wheelchairs and this was not offset by the company's powered wheelchairs. The company's transport division saw a rise in profit, as did its small wire division.
