Networks: between markets and hierarchies

Article Abstract:

Interorganizational networks have been a useful concept to nonprofit agencies, but applying the idea to businesses may be helpful. Strategic planning is required in the network at both the overall level and in member firms to fuel growth. Market politics, theories, networks in practice, implications, and competition are discussed. Networks are expected to grow in number and sophistication.

Research notes and communications: characteristics distinguishing funded from unfunded business plans evaluated by venture capitalists

Article Abstract:

Business plans supported financially by venture capitalists were contrasted to those whose plans were unfunded. The basis for comparison was plan organization, structure, and financial projections. It is suggested that for the plans examined that vary too far from the variables' norms, there is a tendency to remain unfunded. Plan preparation implications are considered.
