Porous Media wins marketing suit: filtration company touts victory in 'Journal' ad

Article Abstract:

Chemical filtration systems producer Porous Media Corp has been awarded $1.72 million in a jury decision against competitor Pall Corp. Porous Media alleged that Pall had belittled its products through its advertising. Porous Media announced its victory through a $70,000 advertisement placed in the 'Wall Street Journal.' It has also filed a third case against Pall because of its counterclaims which it had sent to customers.

Its current marketing efforts center on in-store promotions and its World Wide Web site while its rare ads in trade publications feature testimonials from the latest baseball stars. The company also believes that word-of-mouth marketing among players and coaches is more effective than media.
