The customer service practices of three successful companies were examined to give managers insights on how customer care can ensure long-term success for organizations. Daimler Benz North America Corp's customer care efforts emphasize speed, responsiveness and accountability while SunExpress Inc maximizes the use of marketing technology to enhance relationship with clients. USAA Group Inc's customer care operations involve advanced regional call centers and specialized customer service representatives.

Creating a customer-focused business at Tennalum

Article Abstract:

More and more companies are recognizing the importance of focusing their efforts on their customers' concerns to make their businesses grow. At Tennalum, a division of Kaiser Aluminum, teamwork, four factors were determined as vital in the implementation of a customer-centered strategy. These factors include a management-led vision, flexible systems, organizational capability and reward systems. Tennalum has been utilizing this strategy toward its goal of being the 'preferred supplier' of its products.
