New Lockheed Missile passes tests

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp.'s Joint Common Missile (JCM) has passed the test successfully and it has moved closer to producing a new munition that is likely to replace a number of other missiles, like the Maverick, Longbow and Hellfire. The JCM is a precision, all-weather, low-collateral damage weapon designed to counter unconventional threats and it is the first program to win the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) stamp of approval from the Pentagon.

In test, Lockheed missile sleds home

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp. announced a successful test called the 'sled test' of its Compact Kinetic Energy Missile (CKEM), a weapon developed for the Army as the next generation hypervelocity antitank missile. The CKEM is an unexplosive missile, which gets its force by slamming into a target at an extremely high speed.

Iraq usage rate shows growing UAV importance in field

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are gaining importance within the U.S. Army in Iraq. The proof of UAV's importance in Iraq is evident from the speed at which the U.S. Army is deploying and employing them in Iraq.
