Newson takes off

Australian interior and furniture designer Marc Newson has maintained a modest manner while developing international recognition for his modernistic furniture and interior designs while maintaining a modest personality. At 33, the designer is coming into his own with projects pouring into his Paris studio from all parts of the world. Newson will design the interiors of hundreds of WL&T shops opening worldwide. He has also won his first important US project,which is a prototype of what could become a future chain of Apple Computer shops in Europe.

Jasper Morrison's technique of modernism has been regarded as a classic in the 1990's. The designer furniture is comfortable, easy to use and practical unlike the other extrovert aesthetics. After his education, designers such as Eileen Gray influenced him in his early years. He became famous in the mid 80's when there was a strong need for contemporary designs. The latest works include the Cappellini gallery interior and some kitchen products.
