No flies in the industry soup

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom tourist industry ranks fifth world wide in tourist numbers and earnings. The world market is expanding so the UK share of it is decreasing though the UK market is still growing. UK growth is less in dollar terms than growth in some countries where the currency has been stronger in relation to the dollar. The UK has been successful in marketing tourism and has the advantage of being in the market for heritage tourism which is more stable than tourism based on beaches and sun.

Dracula gives tourism new blood

Article Abstract:

The Romanian tourist industry is mainly controlled by the state which owns hotels and has yet to develop the industry. The government is seeking to use the legend of Dracula as a tourist attraction, and has organized the World Dracula Congress. Romania offers castles, wildlife and unspoilt scenery, including the Carpathian Alps, and a nature reserve in the Danube delta. Transylvania is likely to benefit from an expansion of the tourist industry and was once a tourist area favored by royalty.

No flies in the industry soup

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom ranks fifth in the world tourist industry in terms of tourist numbers and earnings. The market is expanding rapidly, so the UK market share is decreasing, a trend that does not preclude growth of the industry in the UK. Foreign currency income is more important than visitor numbers in relative terms. UK tourism has been well marketed and the UK has a heritage product to offer, with historic buildings, the monarchy and the like.
