Article Abstract:

The marginal tax rate in Quebec, Canada, was found to exceed 100% for some taxpayer classes, particularly for low-wage earners and the middle class. Quebec has one of the highest taxes in all of Canada's provinces, but its officials remain adamant on their policy, which has a negative impact on taxpayers. With high income taxes, taxpayers become less productive and are encouraged to put their savings into ineffective tax shelters. In addition, more people will tend to choose the underground economy for their businesses, while some would rather go to another country with lower taxes

Thousands of shops and restaurants are already evident in cities while a new manufacturing sector is developing around small plants in the rural areas. Eastern Europe's prospects for economic improvement are apparently bright for the next 15 years.
