Norcros: dog days are over

Article Abstract:

Norcros expanded during the 1980s and was hit by recession in the construction industry in the 1990s. The company has had to reorganize and carry out disposals and is left with a shower and tiles business which should benefit from a recovery in the UK housing market which is likely to mean more is spent on bathrooms. The company plans to sell its printing and packaging activities. Norcros' profit is forecast at 12.5 million pounds sterling for 1996 rising to 18 million pounds for 1997, according to NatWest Securities.

The company is also carrying out vertical integration by buying producers of pottery and bathroom furniture.
