On-site photofinishing services versus Internet opportunities

Article Abstract:

Walk-in photofinishing outlets with an online presence can compete successfully with purely Internet photo services, according to Karl Kenny of Telepix Imaging. Kenny says the key to success is the use of compact, integrated digital imaging workstations with Internet connections. These workstations can accept digital file inputs and can digitize traditional film and print photos. They can also handle traditional negatives and prints as well as digital images from CD-ROMs and Zip cartridges.

Online pro services vs traditional photo labs

Article Abstract:

The ability to post 'proof' images by wedding and event photographers is one of the reasons why online professional photographic services have become popular. Photographers no longer have to wait six months for proof books to be circulated among relatives and friends before getting the residual print orders and payments. For instance, PrimeShot.com of Arlington, VA, allows consumers to book photographers online and guests to view photographs in a password-protected Internet gallery.
