Outstanding deal that closes the gap

Article Abstract:

United Kingdom investors may find that the computer software they can obtain is not as up-to-date as that available in the US. Prestel and Updata have collaborated to develop a software and real-time data package for investors that is easy to install, Trader/Analytics has different modules such as Portfolio Manager and Newstore. There has been a focus on aspects of most interest to UK investors, omitting features not likely to be of interest to the majority. This product helps close the gap between UK and US offerings.

ShareScope was launched in Jun 1997 and has since been updated. The product is sold with a month's data and there are monthly downloads available for 9.95 pounds sterling. ShareScope is good value at 79.95 pounds, and is cheaper than many alternatives, though it lacks the depth of functions of some products.

An option on the future

Article Abstract:

Software can be used to analyze trends in options markets. There is a range of software available which can plot graphs and calculate fair values, and much of this is inexpensive. Derivan is a product to be launched by DART Systems for serious investors which costs 799 pounds sterling. The high cost may deter some buyers, but the product provides a number of features which mean it can be used for hedging and arbitrage as well as options trading.
