Owners, punters and businessmen

Article Abstract:

Business leaders involved in UK racehorse ownership include Martyn Arbib who owns 12 racehorses with a further 6 kept for breeding purposes. He launched the Perpetual growth trust, which is a strong performer, and Snurge, his best racehorse, has won 1.25 million pounds sterling. Other businessmen involved in racehorse ownership include Michael Smurfit, David Thompson and Lord White. There is little correlation between success as a racehorse owner and success elsewhere in business.
