Safeguard your income with illness and health insurance

Article Abstract:

The priority for a self-employed person with a mortgage should be to obtain insurance to cover loss of income due to accidents or illness, and this may include critical illness cover. A pension is also important and with an irregular income an individual may be best advised to make lump sum payments rather than commit themselves to regular payments. If savings are modest they are best left accessible for emergencies rather than tied up or involved in risky investment vehicles.

Providing for your children whatever the future holds

Article Abstract:

Financial planning for a couple with children involves considering life insurance in case one partner dies and the other has to cease paid work to care for the children or pay for a caregiver. Permanent health insurance can provide cover in the event of loss of income due to illness, and critical illness insurance is also available. Savings bonds are available to save for school fees, and competitive rates can be obtained from some postal savings accounts.
