Article Abstract:

PepsiCo reported an operating loss in its international soft drinks activities for 3rd qtr 1996. The company has decided to seek growth in new international markets rather than seeking to compete with Coca-Cola in all markets. The company performs well in the US market but Coca-Cola was able to establish itself first in many overseas markets. PepsiCo's KFC fast food restaurants are performing well, but Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are performing less well.
