Design firms are collaborating across international borders in order to tap into a diversity of talent and available work. Examples include Elastik, which has offices in Amsterdam and Ljubljana. The firm's projects have included an addition to Rotterdam City Hall, a house in Slovenia and a jewelry shop in London. HEDGE (Los Angeles, California) connects designers across disciplines from the US, France, South Africa and Japan. Los Angeles- and Berlin-based Graft is made up of American and German designers who move around to different cities in three-month shifts, maintaining contact via videoconferencing and digital sketch sessions.
