She gives her views on regulation and believes that although the market is the best regulator of the economy, good governance is required to create market confidence.

The World Trade Organization's September 2003 summit in Cancun, Mexico was broken up after the summit's chairman said that a trade agreement was impossible. The developing nations said that a agreement was impossible because the major economic powers were not going to "give ground."
