Promises unfulfilled on the Internet

Article Abstract:

The Internet cash management services offered by many large banks usually are sophisticated cash management applications adapted to the Net, which becomes the cause of frustration for many bank customers. But new technologies are being developed to realize the full-potential of the Internet cash management service, which will enable wire transfers and monitoring of cash flow. But the future of Web-based cash management services lies in the development of extranets, which will offer an initial secure environment for electronic transactions.

System integration still under construction

Article Abstract:

SAP AG, Oracle Corp., J.D. Edwards and Co. and others are trying to develop a complete system integration solution to replace treasury workstations. Several treasurers, however, stress that SAP's software cannot integrate all financial functions and treasury needs. Meanwhile, SAP has been testing a treasury product that promises integrated foreign exchange, money market investing, lending, derivatives and debt management functions.
