The Body of Knowledge in the Public Relations Profession

Article Abstract:

Every profession has its commonly held information and procedures. This body of knowledge serves its practitioners. Some claim that public relations is not a profession because it draws on knowledge from many disciplines, such as social psychology, business, communication, journalism and others. But other professions are inter-disciplinary; for example, medicine draws from chemistry, biology, statistics and other fields.
