Quick-turn deals in buoyant market

Article Abstract:

Safeland was hit by a drop in profit in 1998 as a result of difficult market conditions, but this has changed in 1999, and the company has started the year well. The number of transactions dropped in 1998 but should increase in 1999. The company also holds a stake of 13.1% in Hercules Property Services, as well as 6.7% of Safestore. The company is able to locate good opportunities for investment as a result of its local knowledge. Safeland's profit should rise to 2.2 million pounds sterling in 2000, according to Townsley.
