Raising the tempo

Article Abstract:

The value of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) across Europe topped $1,000 bn in 2005 and hence the dealmakers are optimistic about the outlook for 2006, as many large groups are considering acquisitions. There is a need to outsource management of the sale or acquisition process to expert project managers as competition between advisers is also set to steadily increase in 2006 in the M&A market as clients continue to increase their awareness of corporate finance issues and techniques.

Thinking outside the tax box

Article Abstract:

The 100 Group of finance directors published the results of a survey into the amounts of tax paid by its members. The main goal of the survey was to create awareness amongst stakeholders and common people about all the taxes borne by businesses, which contribute to government's revenue. The survey findings showed that for every pound sterling 1 of corporation tax paid by the 100 Group members, pound sterling 1 of other taxes was borne.
