Reagent safety issues surface for cell/tissue therapies

Article Abstract:

The standard-setting organization US Pharmacopeia (USP) plans to publish a document that will give advice to companies regarding the measures that are to be taken for demonstrating the safety of the ancillary reagents that are use in the preparation of cell, gene and tissue therapies. The document of the USP will provide recommendations regarding the use of the ancillary reagents in clinical work; address the lack of specific guidance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Biotech awaits single European financial market

Article Abstract:

Financial Services Action Plan (FSAP) is designed to establish similar regulations for current markets and aims at creating a single financial market for Europe by 2005. International Accounting Standard will help investors to carry out comparisons not only between European and US shares but also across Europe.

Eurobiocluster South a European biotech networks attempted to exploit synergies, pool expertise and avoid duplication of research efforts at the national level. The aim of the initiative is to foster competitive biotech collaborations in the public and private sector across national boundaries.
