Rep. Weldon: Three fighter aircraft programs are unaffordable

Article Abstract:

The US Congress is facing a fiscal crunch due to which it will not be able to afford one of the three fighter aircrafts as the defense budget is already swollen by war costs in Afghanistan and Iraq and other weapons platform procurement programs. The Raptor, which is the most advanced of the three fighter aircrafts, will be cancelled, as JSF is vital and cannot be cancelled, and the F/A-18E/F is already operational.
