Report: In QDR, Army must provide strategic vision for future

Article Abstract:

The Pentagon's 2005 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) has reported that the Army should demonstrate its various modernization and restructuring measures providing a strategic vision for the future. The current QDR is the first to be driven by strategy as these documents describe a new security environment marked by uncertainty, the rise of new, non-traditional threats and need to preserve the US supremacy.

Budget increases offer Army an 'opportunity,' general says

Article Abstract:

The 2006 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) is supporting the US Army's plans to restructure and modernize the force into modular combat brigades. One of the main priorities for the QDR would be to maintain the momentum with respect to Future Combat Systems and modernization of the Army over time and the Army is hoping to spend about $13 billion to further rebuild and reset worn-out equipment.

General: Pentagon needs to consider downward missile spending

Article Abstract:

A senior Army officer revealed that the Pentagon would have to reconsider its procurement across the services, considering the budget slope for missile spending that went downward. Lt. Gen Jerry Sinn, military deputy for budget reveals some of his future plans regarding the missile spending strategy.
