Article Abstract:

An analysis of privatization of financial services firms is presented. The analysis measures the short term and long term returns generated by privatization of a firm for the investors in the said firm. The risks associated with acquisition of a financial firm under privatization are also examined.

China's financial services industry: the intra-industry effects of privatization of the Bank of China Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

A study examining the effect of privatization of the Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) on other banks and non-bank financial institutions is presented. Reactions of some of the banks and non-bank financial institutions in China were negative to the partial privatization reports of the BOCHK.
