Buying growth

Article Abstract:

United Industries is an engineering firm which announced a loss of 446,000 pounds sterling in 1997, largely due to problems at Holden Hydroman, which paints car bumpers. Holden Hydroman was sold and the company had a strong balance sheet, but its stock price suffered. The company has since acquired Neepsend and Hi-Tech Hose. Neepsend is being examined with the help of Knox D'Arcy, a management consultant which holds 10% of United Industries through its investment arm.
