SYSCO Corp

Article Abstract:

The largest food and food-related products distributor SYSCO Corp is strengthening its position in the industry by splitting its stock 2-for-1 increasing annual dividends on the old stock to 24 cents on the resulting 186 million shares. The company also increased its market share through acquisitions. However, CFO William DeLaney said that annual earnings and sales growth will still be created mostly internally. The outstanding fiscal performance of the company has prompted the financial commmunity to predict an increase of pre-split shares to $1.90 for the fiscal year ending Jun 1992.

Damon Corp

Article Abstract:

The laboratory testing company Damon Corp aims to increase its presence in the consolidation-driven medical testing industry by introducing a series of cancer tests that will require less time for diagnosis. CEO Robert Rosen says that the company is investing in different markets through acquisitions and joint ventures because small laboratories that offer specialized services are becoming less in-demand. Customers, specifically doctors, prefer laboratories that offer various testing services rather than those that offer limited testing services.
